2017 WWM GALA

Speechless and in tears as I sit and reflect on what took place at the 2017 Walk With Me Gala ... 

We had no idea what to expect over a year ago when we started to discuss the need for a gala event in 2017. Even though we were - and still are - a young organization, the need for support was beginning to outreach our resources and our capacity. In a big step of faith a small group of women started the long process of planning and preparation, without knowing if all the hard work would pay off. Would people come and would they give or would all the work be in vain? We didn't know the answer to that question, but we were willing to try anything in order to keep our services available to those in need.

On the evening of October 21st, we were able to see that dream finally become  reality as we shared our hearts to a SOLD OUT room of guests. I can say with complete honesty that it was one of the most significant and impactful evenings of my life. Staring at a sea of people SO GENEROUSLY giving their money to a cause so close to my heart was nothing short of surreal. With the help of an amazing community standing behind us, I am honored and shocked to announce that we raised $72,145. Even now as I type that number I am in total disbelief. To the group of individuals who made that possible ... THANK YOU. What you gave us is an opportunity to provide HOPE to the broken, and I am eternally grateful. 

Kelley, Stephanie, Dayna, Beth, Anna, Amber,  ... you ladies amaze me. I know what a sacrifice it was to put all of this together and I am forever grateful to each of you. JB, we couldn’t have hoped for a better MC. You were a part of this journey from the start and we are so humbled you continue to walk this road with us nearly 6 years later. Terry, the passion and love you have for your job is inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and expertise with us all. We are so honored to have you on our team. Shawn, you are AMAZING! Never in my life have I witnessed anything so encouraging. Your heart for our cause shined though in your work and it was an incredible experience. Lauren & Nate, thank you for so bravely sharing your story with us. Lila & Beau are so proud of you and you honored their lives in such a beautiful way. Carson and the rest of the Red Rocks Church Creative Team, thank you so much for the beautiful videos. You guys are incredibly talented and we are beyond grateful for the way you helped us tell our stories.  Emily, we so appreciate you sharing your music with us throughout the evening and providing such beautiful ambiance for us all to enjoy. Thank you to the Molly Brown Summer House for so graciously being our host, to Relish Catering for the delicious meal, and to Rich and everyone at AES for making the evening run so smoothly.
